Without GLöD, you’ll keep settling.

Another generic design and fit.

Another synthetic fabric that makes you sweat, stink and cling more than it should.

Another "technical" product built to hit a price point, not to actually perform.

The truth is, most performance wear - men's and women's - wasn't designed with real runners in mind. It's plastic-heavy, poorly cut, and built from cheap toxic synthetics that chafe, cling, overheat, and trap odour after one run. It makes you question your gear when it should be earning your trust.

Zero transparency on what it's made from, who made it, or what you're actually paying for. You deserve better.

GLöD is: No compromises. No shrink-it-and-pink-it. No toxic synthetics. Full supply chain transparency, down to the factory. Just elite-level natural fiber gear for every runner - men and women.

Why GLöD?

Built From Nature. Engineered for Performance.

GLöD makes premium performance running wear for men and women from natural and responsibly sourced materials. Natural fibre or fibre blends. No cheap virgin polyester. No shortcuts. No greenwashing. Here is what that actually means for your run.

Natural Temperature Regulation, High-Performance

Natural fibres regulate body temperature across a wider range of conditions than synthetic fabrics. They buffer the transition between cold starts and warm finishes. They do not dump you into a sweat spiral at 10°C the way polyester does. You stay comfortable for longer, across more weather, with fewer layers.

Natural Odour Resistance

No more stincky running gear. Merino wool and other natural fibres have a natural antimicrobial structure. Bacteria - the actual source of that post-run perma-stink - does not accumulate in natural fibres the way it does in polyester. You can wear GLöD gear more than once between washes. Your gym bag will genuinely thank you.

Engineered Fit and Construction for Real Bodies

GLöD is designed by the founder herself, a designer and product developer with 27 years of experience building sports and outdoorwear for international brands, and a former competitive athlete herself. Men's and women's fit blocks are each built from scratch - not one pattern shrunk or stretched to fit the other gender. Every seam placement, every cut, every waistband decision is intentional - engineered for how real bodies move, not how a generic fit block assumes they should be shaped. Shorts that stay put. Tops that don’t go up if you raise your arms. Waistbands that do not roll. Strategically placed seams that don’t chafe.

Responsible by design - Radical Transparency - Digital Product Passports

We prioritize conscious choices without compromising performance. Every GLöD piece carries a digital product passport. Scan it and see exactly where it was made, which factory, what materials went into it - versus what a heavily marked-up synthetic 'premium' brand charges you for polyester and a logo. No vague eco-conscious language. No hiding behind buzzwords. This is real value you can verify, not cheap stuff dressed up and overpriced. Full transparency, cause we’ve got nothing to hide.

Intentional Design, Nothing Extra

Clean, uncluttered, and built with purpose - every seam, trim, and detail on a GLöD garment is there for a reason. No embellishments. No filler. Just sharp, functional design that enhances performance, comfort, and fit. If it doesn’t serve you or your run, it doesn’t make the cut.

No Microplastics

Synthetic fabrics like polyester sheds microplastic fibres every single wash cycle - directly into waterways and eventually into the food chain. Natural fibres do not. It is one of the least discussed environmental problems in the running industry. GLöD is built around materials that do not do this, and we are transparent about every choice we make.

Force of Nature

Meet the Founder

Ana Kristiansson – Runner. Designer. Trailblazer.

I'm not just here to sell you running gear – I'm here to change the game for runners who refuse to settle.

As a former elite athlete with medals from the World Military Pentathlon Championships, I know what high performance demands. As a graduate of Parsons School of Design, one of the world's top fashion schools, I understand the art and science behind fit, form, and innovation. And as the founder of a global design agency that's shaped collections for some of the most respected performance sports brands in the world - including Salomon, Helly Hansen, and Haglöfs - I've spent the last 27 years building products that win design and product awards, industry attention, and customer loyalty. Along the way I've walked the floor of more than 150 factories around the world, and built and run two of my own clothing brands before this one.

But GLöD isn't just business. It's personal.

I've been a runner since I was 16. Running has been my outlet – for health, clarity, and sanity. And like so many runners, I've felt the frustration of gear that doesn't fit right, perform well, or align with my values.

So I'm building what no one else has. A premium, founder-led running brand for every runner - men and women - that combines elite design, technical performance, and sustainable materials and manufacturing – for every kind of run.

GLöD isn't about following trends. It's about leading with purpose, powered by the belief that runners deserve better.

Everything You're Probably Wondering

What is GLöD?

GLöD is a premium performance running wear brand for every runner, men and women, built around one simple belief: runners deserve better than cheap synthetic crap. We make running gear from natural and responsibly sourced performance materials - engineered for fit, built for real bodies, and designed to work on the trail, track and tarmac. No greenwashing. No unisex guesswork. Just properly made running gear that actually performs.

Does GLöD make gear for men, or just women?

Both. GLöD launches with men's and women's ranges together - running tights, shorts, tops and socks, each with its own dedicated fit block. We're not a women's brand with a men's afterthought, or the other way around. Both ranges are built with the same standard: natural fibres, engineered fit, full transparency.

What makes GLöD different from other running brands?

Most running gear is made from cheap polyester, designed to a price point, then dressed up with marketing that sounds impressive. GLöD does the opposite. We start with the material - natural and performance-grade fibres that feel better on your skin, manage sweat without reeking after one run, and do not shed microplastics every time you wash them. Then we engineer the fit specifically for how men and women actually move, not how a generic size chart thinks bodies should be shaped. Every seam, every cut, every material choice is intentional. If it does not improve your run, it does not make the cut.

What materials does GLöD use in its running gear?

We work with natural and responsibly sourced performance materials - merino wool blends, natural fibre constructions and recycled materials where they genuinely perform better, not just where they sound good on a label. We avoid cheap virgin polyester wherever we can because it is uncomfortable, it smells, it sheds microplastics, and runners deserve better. Every material choice comes with full transparency - you will know what your gear is made from, where it was made, and why we chose it.

Why does running gear made from natural fibres perform better?

The fabric touching your skin for hours affects how hot you get, how much you chafe, how badly you smell after a run, and how quickly the garment falls apart. Cheap polyester is a plastic that traps heat, develops odour fast, loses its stretch and ends up in landfill and sheds microplastics. Natural performance fibres like merino regulate temperature better, resist odour naturally, feel more comfortable against skin over long distances, and last significantly longer when made well. It is not a small difference. It is the difference between gear that enhances your run and gear you are fighting the whole way.

Why do running shorts ride up or chafe - and does GLöD solve this?

It's a fit engineering problem, not a body problem. Women's shorts typically ride up because most brands use fit blocks that don't account for real thigh-to-hip proportions and bum volume. Men's shorts typically chafe or bounce because liners are treated as an afterthought. GLöD builds separate, dedicated fit blocks for men's and women's anatomy - we study how each body moves, where friction happens, and how fabric behaves at pace, and engineer the cut around that instead of forcing one generic template onto both.

Is GLöD running gear sustainable?

The running industry is full of brands slapping 'eco' on the same cheap polyester and calling it sustainable. That is not what GLöD does. Sustainability at GLöD means choosing natural and responsibly sourced materials over cheap synthetics, working only with ethical manufacturers, being fully transparent about our supply chain, and building products that last years not one season. Every piece carries a digital product passport, so you can scan it and see exactly where your gear was made, what it is made from, and who made it - no vague claims, just verifiable facts. If we cannot stand behind it, we do not sell it.

When will GLöD products be available?

We are launching our first collection - men's and women's together - later this year, timed for anyone who wants to give the gift of actually great running gear or who is ready to stop tolerating bad kit heading into the new year. Sign up to the waitlist and you will be the first to know when we go live - plus you get The Running Gear Honest Guide free, early product previews, and the chance to shape what we make.

What running gear will GLöD make?

We are starting with the essentials - the pieces runners are consistently let down by, men's and women's ranges both. Running tights, running shorts, long and short sleeve performance tops and running socks. Everything engineered for trail, track and tarmac. We are not launching 200 products to look impressive. We are launching a tight, considered range we can genuinely stand behind and building from there with our community.

Is GLöD only for serious or elite runners?

No. GLöD is for any runner, man or woman, whether that is three times a week around the park, marathon training, or mountain trails on weekends. The reason we obsess over fit, materials and construction is not to just make gear for elite bodies. Every runner deserves gear that actually works, regardless of pace, distance, gender or experience. If you run, this is for you.

What does GLöD mean?

GLöD is a Swedish word meaning ember - the quiet, persistent heat that keeps burning long after the flame. We chose it because it captures exactly what running is for most of us. Not always dramatic. The consistent, stubborn fire that keeps us going. Out early. In the rain. When motivation is low and the run happens anyway. That is GLöD.
