What it’s like
ÖTILLÖ is the original swimrun race: teams of two travel from Sandhamn to Utö across 25 islands in the Stockholm archipelago. The full course is about 70 km, made up of roughly 61 km of running on rocky trails and forest plus about 9 km of open-water swimming. The 2027 race is on 6 September. You can't just sign up. Entry is based on Swimrun Ranking points, with a few wild cards each year. It is swimrun, so the running is only part of the job, but it's a big part.
