Why we're building GLöD

Most of us have owned the top that clings by kilometre three, the tights that slide down every time you speed up, and the shirt that smells like last week the moment it warms up. A lot of running kit is designed to hit a price point first and a runner second. And it's rarely clear what it's made from, who made it, or where.

Runners should get better kit, and clearer answers. So here is what we're doing about it:

Natural and cellulose-based fibres, chosen for how they perform on a run. Separate fit blocks for women and men. A Digital Product Passport on every performance piece. And no claims we can't back up.

Our first performance collection, for women and men, launches on 16 March 2027.

Why GLöD?

Built from natural fibres. Engineered for running.

We're building premium running wear for women and men around natural and cellulose-based fibres such as lyocell, merino and modal, with elastane where a garment needs stretch and recovery. Here's what we're designing for.

Comfortable across more of the run

Merino and lyocell handle moisture differently from polyester: they take moisture vapour up into the fibre itself. That's why we're building our tops around them, for the cold start, the warm middle and the walk home. We're testing our fabrics on real runs, and we'll share what we learn when we launch.

Less post-run funk (we're testing it)

Merino has a reputation among runners for holding less odour than polyester between washes. We're testing our fabric options on repeat runs before we promise anything about how many times you can wear a GLöD top between washes. Your gym bag will be the first to know.

Separate fit blocks for women and men

GLöD's performance collection is designed by co-founder Ana Kristiansson, a designer and product developer in sports and outdoor apparel. Women's and men's styles are built on their own fit blocks, so neither is a resized version of the other. We're designing for waistbands that stay put, tops that stay down when you lift your arms and seams placed away from the usual chafe points, and we test samples on runs before anything goes on sale.

Responsible by design · Transparency · Digital Product Passports

Every GLöD performance product will come with a Digital Product Passport. Scan it to see what it's made of, where it was made, which factory made it and how to care for it. No vague eco language and no hiding behind buzzwords. If we can't show it, we won't claim it.

Intentional Design, Nothing Extra

Clean, uncluttered and built with purpose: every seam, trim and detail on a GLöD garment is there for a reason. No embellishments. No filler. Just functional design for comfort, fit and movement. If it doesn't serve you or your run, it doesn't make the cut.

Fewer synthetic fibres, honestly counted

Every textile sheds fibres in the wash, natural ones included. Polyester fibres are plastic; cellulose and wool fibres aren't. That's one reason we start with natural and cellulose-based fibres. Where a garment needs elastane for stretch, we'll say so, and its Digital Product Passport will show the exact composition.
